Sharing kppp with non-root users

Hi,
Should similar changes be made to /etc/pam.d/ppp where similar entries I 
find.

I made suggested changes to /etc/pam.d/kppp,but still not getting the 
result.Also I
draw your attention to mail by Scott Burns who recommends a different 
change.I dont
see file suggested by him on my system.

In  /etc/pam.d/ edit "kppp" and delete:

auth  required        pam_stack.so service=system-auth
