Im aware of the rights the GPL gives me and also of the restrictions it
imposes.   My point was that Fedora pop's up a window with a Licence
I need to accept before I can start using the product.  (again, I havent
tried to refuse here, so I cant say what happens)

Which is prehaps a bad thing, considering this clause from the GPL:

"5.  You are not required to accept this License, since you have not signed it. However, nothing else grants you permission to modify or distribute the Program or its derivative works. These actions are prohibited by law if you do not accept this License. Therefore, by modifying or distributing the Program (or any work based on the Program), you indicate your acceptance of this License to do so, and all its terms and conditions for copying, distributing or modifying the Program or works based on it."

I can imagine whats going thru the heads of people not familiar with the
GPL and see that legal-speak window pop up.  "What Freedom?" :)

Anyway... Back to playing Quake3 (another closed source, non GPL app I love) ;)
