Apache tomcat 5.0.24 on fc2

I have not been able to stress test tomcat on fc2 since fc2t2.  all was 
fine up until fc2t3.  i haven't been able to get tomcat to even start 
with ibm's sdk 141 (fc2 locks up).   i can get it to start with sun's 
141_04 sdk but tomcat falls over 15 minutes into a run with out of 
memory errors reported in catalina.out.  at the same time, "top" in fc2 
shows available physical memory.  anyone successfully running tomcat 5.x 
on fc2 out there?
