FC2 install questions

Okay, I figured out why there's no such thing as a boot floppy in FC2, and 
I have a better idea of how I could get around installing via CD-ROM now. 
Some good advice here:

I'm still kind of afraid to install grub on my home XP machine, though, 
given the reports of trouble with it:
