Boot hangs on "Probing new hardware" [SOLVED]

Another solution would be to enter interactive mode at startup. Press
"I" wenn the boot process says so and you can easily skip some usually
started services.

I still have the same problem here with kudzu hanging on boot. (IBM
Thinkpad R50p). In my case it is the madwifi drivers. If I remove them
everthing is fine. 

I am still searching.
