Yes, but the 2.6 kernels do not work with APM for me - it will suspend 
but not resume.

Or maybe there are other things to do apart from add acpi=off to the 
boot arguments?

I was really hoping there would be some people saying 'the whole range 
of models from manufacturer X work fine'
