anaconda overwrites old grub.conf when installing dual-boot

Hi all,

I've had this dilemma for a while now. Every time I want to install or
upgrade a new FC test/final release I do so via dual-booting it with FC1
(or whatever previous release). FC1 is split into multiple partitions
such as /boot/, /usr/, /home etc. So I always create a new empty
partition and install there. However, when the installation finishes and
I reboot, the grub.conf from the new OS install always overwrites the
old one with FC1 and other entries in it. Which means I have to boot to
a rescue environment, specify the FC1 partition when asked and then
re-install the old grub.conf with grub-install /dev/hda. This also
involves editing the old test release entry to point to the
kernel/initrd for the new test release.

So, is there any way to install a new test/final release in a dual-boot
scenario like above but *not* have the old grub.conf overwritten? If the
installer could simply add an entry for the new OS to the *old* file
that would seem really sensible to me. Any advice/tips appreciated.

Regards,
-Matt
