If changing from Quicken to gnucash, the main thing to appreciate, but
then NOT worry about, is each financial category is a different account.
So if you write a cheque for food, you will create a transaction in you
current (I think Americans call it a checking) account and a
corresponding transaction will be created in your grocery expence
account.  I just ignored these to begin with, and eventually it all made
sense (IANAA - I am not an accountant :-)
