SMTP-Auth and Postfix

You can check whether SMTP AUTH works using telnet. On how to do so and

Setting up saslauthd to use shadow as MECH, will it work then?

echo "MECH=shadow" > /etc/sysconfig/saslauthd
service saslauthd restart
