follow up: no smb network access

After having now tried several hostnames and samba configurations, smb
network still doesn't work. I have tried different gui browsers, and
lisa through konqueror. I know that lisa is configured properly because
it ran well this way on other distributions, and /etc/init.d/lisa start
doesn't show any errors.
I haven't tried smbclient from the commandline because I don't know how
to use it to seek for online machines.
Any Ideas?
thx in advance, florian
