You can use the same key presses in Windows as well.  Only they go to
the clipboard, then you have to paste the image to a graphics
application like Paint to be able to save or print them.

Not exactly the same keystrokes windows alt-print screen == focused window ctl-print screen == entire desktop gnome alt-print screen == focused window print screen == entire desktop
