I have never set up a syquest syjet on Linux before but I dug an old one
out of the attic and though I would give it a shot...

A very humbling experience..

I dont even know where to start, I found some old stuff on the redhat
mailing list but when I tried to do a modprobe pd I got the following
error..

***************

/lib/modules/2.4.22-1.2188.nptl/unsupported/drivers/block/paride/pd.o:
init_module: Operation not permitted
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters,
including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg
