Are you referring to Serel http://www.fastboot.org/
This graphs the dependencies between the init scripts on the first run,
then starts the ones which don't depend in parallel.
I did a bit of testing with this a couple of years ago, and decided it
wasn't worth the complexity. From the webpage, it looks a dead project.
