Firstly let me say Duncan is a nice guy, he helped me get both 'apt' and KDE
3.2 installed having said that I agree with everything you said I was bitten
by the Linux bug about seven months ago I still run dual boot with windows on
all my machines because as you say sometimes its quicker, easier to download,
manipulate stuff with a GUI that is, I have to say, trusted by the world
(mostly) funnily enough I have been joking on another LUG that there is three
levels of Linux user:
1: The newbie. Total GUI (Graphical) usage.
2: The intermediate. Text based, avoids GUI and eye candy like the plague
mention GUI and they'll look at you like you poohed on thier carpet!
3: The grand master. Terminal surgically inplanted in the brain mention a
keyboard or terminal screen and they will look at you like you slept with
thier mother they dont use Linux they think it.
