What's probably happened is you've installed the rpm of apache which is
using where it thinks the base of the web should be served from. It's
caught me a few times.

If you have a compiled yourself version of apache on your server, you
can get things working again by the following

1. ls /usr/local/apache2/bin (or whereever it is)
2. make a note of the files in there
3. replace any copies of the files in /usr/sbin with a symlink to those
in /usr/local/apache2/bin
4. restart the http server

You should find everything works again. Failing that, you need to alter
the apache.conf file to point to the base of where the webpages are
served from
