linuc mediacheck fails for FC2

I get the following error when running linux mediacheck:
Kernel panic; Fatal exception in interrupt
In interrupt handler - not synching

What does this mean?
Does it mean the media is bad or there is a hardware problem?

This machine is currently RH9.
