Using a iomega zip drive in FC1

I have two systems using FC1. One has an internal zip drive which
seems to be associated with /dev/hdd. That seems to work OK.

The other has a iomega zip drive attached to the parallel port and
then the parallel cable is fed through to the printer. This one seems
more of a mystery to get to work. Does anyone have any tips?
