2 minor problems with KDE

Hello!

I discovered two small problems with the look of KDE in Fedora Core 2:

1.) My Trashcan appears to be full even if empty. I think I remember an
identical question to this list but I can't find it anymore and
searching this newsgroup for "kde" and "trash" or "waste" returns
nothing. Would be nice if someone can tell me how to teach my Trashcan
to look empty when it's empty or point me to the original thread if
there was a solution for this.

2.) I use a transparent Panel and there is always an annoying little
grey square in the system part of the panel where the little keyring
shows up when i used some system config tool which requires root
privileges. Is it possible to get rid of the grey square, maybe by
shutting down the service that's responsible for displaying the keyring?
