6-in-1 card reader: works in fc1 and not in fc2

I have a 6-in-1 card reader, that works in Fedora Core 1 when using the
tip here: http://fedoranews.org/krishnan/tips/tip044.shtml - ie. setting
max_scsi_luns in grub.conf and modules.conf.
However that doesn't work in Fedora Core 2. I have also tried the latest
kernel (kernel-2.6.6-1.383) since that was supposed to have som USB
fixes.
Here is the output from /var/log/messages when I insert the device:
May 26 11:41:11 ice kernel: usb 2-1: USB disconnect, address 4
May 26 11:41:14 ice kernel: usb 2-1: new full speed USB device using
address 5
May 26 11:41:15 ice kernel: scsi2 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage
devices
May 26 11:41:15 ice kernel: Vendor: ICSI Model: SD Card
Rev: 2.7C
May 26 11:41:15 ice kernel: Type: Direct-Access
ANSI SCSI revision: 02
May 26 11:41:15 ice kernel: Attached scsi removable disk sda at scsi2,
channel 0, id 0, lun 0
May 26 11:41:16 ice scsi.agent[3888]: disk

As far as I can tell it seems to think that there is only one card slot.
I also tried:
echo "scsi add-single-device 0 0 0 0" > /proc/scsi/scsi
but that doesn't change the output of cat /proc/scsi/scsi:
Attached devices:
Host: scsi2 Channel: 00 Id: 00 Lun: 00
Vendor: ICSI Model: SD Card Rev: 2.7C
Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02
Has anyone had any experience with this?
