An update:
I deleted the "--with-curl" line, and started compiling. This time,
it errored on the yp/nis support, so I deleted the "--with-yp" line,
in php.spec.
Now when compiling, it's been dying on the sybase portion. It can't
find libraries. I downloaded and installed Sybase ASE-12_5 for Linux,
since it's free, not only for the client support, so I can connect to
existing Sybase databases on other machines, but also for the
opportunity to mess with a Sybase database.
Anyway, I installed ASE to /opt/sybase, it's default location. When
PHP compiles, it expects to find various .h files in
/opt/sybase/include. Guess what, it doesn't exist. After hunting
around, I found the .h files in /opt/sybase/OSE_12-5/include.
So, I'm in the process of compiling again, waiting to see the results.
I'll let you know.
Thanks,
Chris
