what is the difference between srpm and rpm?

Rpm files are compiled software packages for Fedora that can be installed
using the rpm program.
Srpms are rpm packages containing only the source code, rpm spec files, etc
which can be installed with rpm and then compiled or modified manually.
 In short, if you want to compile a program from source code you would get
the srpm packages, and then install it. If you want a program that is
already compiled and ready to install get the rpm files, and install those.
