My Nikon CoolScan works just fine under Linux (SANE). In fact, I prefer using
it under SANE (as opposed to the Win/Mac software that Nikon shipped with
it). I get lots better control over things such as exposure and scan
resolution.
It uses a SCSI interface. Results can be viewed at
