Extreme help needed with installation of FC2 on a Dell Inspiron 8600

I re installed FC3 tonight and let the eth0 hang or take a long time. I
should have mentioned that the network card is plugged into my cable modem.
I did let it hang for over 1 1/2 hours and the machine still completely
locks up to the point that I have to power down the system and reboot. Any
further help would greatly be apprectiated.

Thanks

The eth0 will hang or at least take a long time if the network
connection cannot be resolved, make sure that you plug in the cable to
speed up startup.

If you don't have a network connection, the service should time-out.
