Check your /etc/modules.conf to ensure a line like

alias sound-slot-0 cs4281

exists. If not, figure out the correct driver for your system (it probably 
won't be the same) and put the appropriate line in it. I am, however, 
surprised that kudzu isn't finding this problem on bootup.
