disk_dos.c error during install of FC3

I have run into a problem with the upgrade of machines with FC2 to 
FC3. It gives an error about the number of head and then sectors. 
The errors are listed as occurring in disk_dos.c on lines 480 and 
then 485. I found a bug list on this, that says resolved, but says its a 
duplicate of another error. Going back thru the duplicates, it 
eventually comes to the original error report, that is still open. The 
only option they list in this message is an update diskette, and doing 
the linux update with the diskette only moves the lines to 491 and 
496 of the disk_dos.c. 

I have a lab of 20 computers that currently have 98, XP, and Linux 
Fedora Core 2. (Also had Core 1 before and Red Hat 9).
