Media Check issue with Disc 2 and 3...on fc3

hey,

    If I burn with padding or 4x and I still have trouble what should I 
do? And I have used the ide=nodma option and it still failed on media 
check... 
Also I tried this:

dd if=/dev/cdrom of=/dev/null and I got this:

[doctorwhite at deu-74-57 heidelberg-binary-i386]$ dd if=/dev/cdrom 
of=/dev/null
dd: reading `/dev/cdrom': Input/output error
790480+0 records in
790480+0 records out


What do you make of this?  Let me know...
