VMware does not compile

thanks for your tips but actually i am still getting the same error:

[vmware-any-any-update84]# ./runme.pl

Sorry, there is no binary patch available for your version of /usr/bin/vmware.

Unable to make a vmmon module that can be loaded in the running kernel:
insmod: error inserting '/tmp/vmware-config4/vmmon.o': -1 Unknown symbol in module

and that's probably not a consequence of the missing patch for
the vmware binary. Any other help?
