Yum problem after update on FC-3

No, I have enabled=0 in both these repo files,
and enabled=1 in fedora.rep and fedora-updates.repo,
which I take to be the default.
(I haven't changed these lines.)

It seems to me I need to downgrade yum and/or python.
But how?
