GDM Text Size --

One problem I am seeing is that the correct video card drivers are not
being used by the system.  It selects the generic vesa driver.  The
video card is S3Trio3D.  I try to change to that one in the pull down
list for system-config-display to S3 Trio3D/2X and it won't let me
change it.  What would I put in xorg.conf to get the correct drivers
used?  Could that be part of the problem with the size of the GDM text?
