Kernel Panic - Init not found with new kernel

Hi

I upgraded today to the new kernel kernel-2.6.9-1.678_FC3.i686.rpm (and the smp)

On booting I get the message mkdevroot: Label / not found, kernel panic etc....
I tried replacing root=LABEL=/ with root=/dev/sda6 (on which FC3 is installed) but does not help

I have now gone back to the previous kernel and everything works fine with LABEL itself.

Please help .. (or should I just stay with the previous kernel)
