FC3: no sound, on board SIS7012 chip. Realtek ac97.

I tried a few distros, and I did get sound working
using knoppix. (knoppix did load i810_audio). Know FC3
does not get along with my sound card.

I thought the last desperate way to get sound working
would be to somehow load i810_audio in FC3. However
that is not available.

Any suggestions on how to get this working?

Thanks,
Carlos

Specs I could gather for the card are:
Audio Controller SiS7012
AC97 Codec ALC655
Realtek AC97 Audio

I I try alsamixer, I get
alsamixer: function snd_ctl_open failed for default:
No such device

A piece of /var/log/messages. It seems the sound card
is sharing IRQ with the network card (though that also
happens in windows, and the sound works there)
note line with codec_not_ready, and line with
INTEL_ICH, filed -5
