WMV9 Codec for linux?

Well I download the essentials package and put the codecs in 
/usr/local/lib/codecs as per Mplayer instructions, and I modified my 
xine config to go to that folder for win32 codecs as well. Now both 
players crash when I try to play a WMV9 video...
