Up2date Hangs

If you did a fresh new installation of FC2 there are already a lot of
updates outstanding then. Choose just a part of them at one step. In
addition I recommend to update the X11 packages in console when the X
server is not running:
init 3
up2date-nox -u xorg-x11
init 5 (to come back into X)
I guess you did not alter up2date's default configuration. Please do it.
