Possibly some screw-up in your /etc/fstab. Check for hidden chars or
typos, even better post your fstab as attachment (not as copy&paste) to
the list. Also show us the result of "ll /etc/fstab".
BTW, "mount /mnt/cdrom" is sufficient when set-up in fstab correctly.
