If it's part of the OS (managed by RPM), then yeah. Otherwise, you're
probably best off with /usr/local/share/whatever. That's pretty much the
point of local.
Another FHS 2.3 option would be /srv/multimedia, since your purpose is to
share this data out over some network protocol.
