The licensing change in XFree86 which triggered the switch to Xorg is
not unique to FC2, and not an internally-driven change. Hope your
problem is solved with the newer versions, but I disagree with your
dropping the blame for the "mess they caused" on the Fedora team. They
are not culpable for your pain.
