The only thing working on my fedora 2 is the speedtouchconf script
http://speedtouchconf.sourceforge.net/
& using kernel 2.6.8 (or kernel >2.6)
It is a "version" of gpl drivers.
You have to read all the page, then installa e launch the script.
There is only an issue related to a file called resolf.conf.
The script isn't able to update it.
You have to take the DNS nameservers(adresses) of your IP and put in
resolf.conf.
There is my italian step-by-step at:
http://xoomer.virgilio.it/mute_analysis/speedtouch_guida_fc2.html
Hoping you can transalte with any online translation service.
The useful part of my guide is:
# cd /etc
# Gedit resolf.conf (or "mc -e" , jed)
or
mc -e resolf.conf
Privileges!You have to be root.
Exampleo: your DNS is 134.123.156.7 134.123.100.7 , you have to write
inside resolf.conf
nameserver 134.123.156.7
nameserver 134.123.100.7
you have to save resolf.conf
etc/init.d/speedtouch start
My speedtouch "silver" is perfectly functional at the moment
PLease take care of the particuar fimware you have to use for the
speedtouch "silver modem"
Read details in
http://speedtouchconf.sourceforge.net/
Read all, it's like bible
