Do you have any live cds about like knoppix you could run lspci on
this machine with to compare?

Well I wont ask you to try reseating the sound card then =)

If you could get an lspci out put for the hw then we could try to find
a solution...... But it doesnt even show up (which i have not come
across before).

If someone knows why it wouldnt show please let us know.
