new kernel 2.6 and USB (hid) error

I forget: did you compile from scratch or install someone's 2.6 kernel?
If you compile from scratch, obviously you'll have to compile in alsa.
And you'll probably want to add in alsa-lib and alsa-utils, as well.
If it gives you any encouragement, I found it pretty easy going to 2.6
and ALSA under FC1. Of course, that was five months ago...
