It would be good if you would have made clear which Fedora Core you are
running and which package of cdrecord. From the version number I
conclude it is FC1 - which kernel? -, but it is impossible to say
whether it is the original cdrecord rpm or already the latest update
package.

A problem seen by others too, AFAIK a problem with the ide-scsi layer
module and certain burning devices.

There is in the updates. Use yum or up2date.

You seem to try to burn a .bin file. cdrdao handles .bin/.cue images.
But I fear your problem has to do with the ide-scsi layer.

If you use custom scripts - how should anybody see what commands you
really run?
