Burning audio CDs has a race condition which as been filed in
bugzilla I believe and is soon to be fixed. It's a known issue
with kernel 2.6.8-1.521.

This problem has been noted a few times, it's not a k3b issue.
In fact, I just had a thread concerning this matter.
