fedora on laptop

Hey, juzt installed fedora Core 2 on my laptop, Compaq Presario R3000, did any of you guys tryimg that before (on this model)? And another question - did any of you make alps touchpad working on x86_64 Fedora Core 2 release?I found some articles about synaptics driver but it have some problems in this envoronment, working well in 386 but on adm64 needs some specials adjustments.
