Don't know if this would work, but why don't you try to open an ssh
connection (a ssh tunnel), and use wget -c thru the tunnel?
## BEGIN ##
#!/bin/sh
WGET_HOST=10.0.0.1
WGET_PORT=22
WGET_LOCALPORT=8001
USER=Ow.Mun.Heng
HOST=YourHost.whatever.org
eval localport=$WGET_LOCALPORT
eval host=$WGET_HOST
eval port=$WGET_PORT
ssh -o GatewayPorts=no $USER $HOST
## END ##
That should open a local tunnel to your server. Then you could
just
wget -c localhost:8001
Don't know if this works, never tried it out...
