apache (httpd) on FC1/i386 vs FC2/x86_64: 3-8 times as much memory consumption?

In my case this was 20MB vs 6MB.

No, the numbers were from actual full workload scenarios.

It must not be a i386 vs x86_64 issue, it can also be FC1->FC2 issue
(including kernel 2.4->2.6).
