Would this apply across complete shutdowns and restarts?
I've rebooted twice with no effect.

DNS resolution seems fine as I can run up2date as well as ping other
machines in my house as well as the internet.

Would it make any difference if I mention the fact that at some point
yesterday my /home partition was completely full?
