Announcing the availability of the Generic Linux Boot Floppy project:
This project aims to create a generic framework capable of booting Linux
from any medium, including CD/DVDs, USB flash memory sticks, hard
drives, and disk images on network servers. It's useful for booting
Linux installers on systems not capable of booting from anything other
than a floppy drive. The boot floppy acts as a chainloader to recognize
the medium that actually contains Linux and boot it from there.
GLBF currently supports booting Linux from CD/DVD and ISO images on VFAT
hard drive partitions located on IDE/SATA drives.
