compress, uncompress no sim link to gunzip?

While installing a java application on FC2 today I encountered an error,
the script was unable to find the command uncompress.  (compress was
also missing)

I resolved the problem by modifying the script to use gunzip instead.  

I did find man pages for compress and uncompress.  

The question is should there be sim links for compress and uncompress to
gzip and gunzip?

Is this worth filing a bug report?
