obsolete OSS interface messages

So RP doesn't see ALSA. I have no clue about that one.

I don't know what's causing the Mozilla messages, and I'm not sure how 
much I'm helping, but as long as nobody else is responding,

1) You can always install OSS. I'm not clear on how to do this; the only 
time I did it was a few years ago when it was the simple way to get a 
weird audio card working in RH8. I paid for it, in that case, and it was 
easy and worked well.
2) What version of RealPlayer? Could you switch to HelixPlayer, Real's 
sort-of-open-source, community-oriented player? Maybe it's better at 
using ALSA. I'm not clear on the differences.
