I have a X20 and a X21 and bought the Ultrabay with a slot for a cd-drive. Very convenient.

Boot into single user mode and run system-config-display and system-config-mouse. Then it should fix your settings.

I have attached an XFree86.config of mine, although it's from a FreeBSD machine the settings (mouse, monitor, etc) should work for you. You should _not_ copy the keyboard section with the reference to xfree86.
