eth0 failing after changing IP address

Hi All,

Today I took an old server offline and replaced it with a new server
running FC2.

After I shutdown the old server and unplugged it from the net and
power, I went into the gui network configuration tool and on the
new FC2 server and changed the IP addresses for the two interfaces
to the ip addresses of the old server. This involved just increasing
the last octet by 1 for each interface. No change in subnet or anything
like that.

I then rebooted the new server. During the boot, eth0 could not be
initialized giving an error about "not able to overwrite eth1, file exists".
It then complained that a host with that ip address already exists.

Well I know that part isn't true since the server that had that address
is laying on the floor in my office.

After booting, I can manually bring the interface up with the correct
address.

Any one have an idea on what is going on here?

Thanks,

Mike
